Meet Arthur 🤍
Arthur came to us after a local shelter reached out for help. He was found in rough condition, carrying the weight of what looks like years of neglect. He arrived with severe demodex mange and a painful skin infection, but he’s already begun treatment and is on the road to healing.
He also has a large wound on his elbow that is slowly improving, and we’re making sure he gets everything he needs to stay comfortable as his body recovers.
Despite everything he’s endured, Arthur is incredibly gentle and loving. There’s a calmness about him—the kind that makes you want to sit next to him in the sun and just be. He loves collecting his toys and proudly bringing them to bed, and sunbathing is easily one of his favorite pastimes.
This sweet old man has been doing great with his Frenchie foster sister so far and is soaking up the safety and care he’s likely never had before.
Arthur’s story isn’t finished yet—but it’s already turning into something really special.

04/2026 Update from his foster mom:
Arthur is a a gentle soul and a quiet resilience. While we may never know everything he’s been through, it’s clear his past wasn’t easy—but Arthur doesn’t dwell on it. Instead, he soaks up all the love he can get and gives it right back in the sweetest ways.
He’s a laid-back guy who enjoys the simple things in life—cozy naps, bones, and his favorite toys (which he absolutely loves, even at his slow-and-steady pace). He’s also good with other dogs—he gets along well with his foster sister and will even try to play. Every now and then, his playful side really shows, especially when he barks at the neighbor’s dog to say hello.
Arthur is currently learning to use a dog door and doing well, though he still has occasional accidents and will need a patient, understanding home to help him keep improving.
Arthur doesn’t ask for much—just a calm, loving environment where he can feel safe and cared for. In return, he’ll give you a loyal, gentle kind of love that makes every day a little softer.
