Gumdrop

    Apply to adopt

    Bio:

Gumdrop was a stray wandering around the streets of DFW when she was brought into a local animal shelter. We were contacted to help with her care. We don’t know her prior history or how she was allowed to suffer in this condition for so long. We cannot fathom how she still wants to give kisses and give us love when she’s the one that was suffering.. Gumdrop had so much built up scar tissue in her ear that she needed her ear canal and a baseball size mass removed. This mass has been biopsied and we are waiting for the results. Her deformities did not happen over night, Gumdrop has suffered years of neglect. We are just so thankful we were able to help this sweetheart. Gumdrop has been discharged from the vet, check back in to see how she is healing.

06/04/2025: We have received Gumdrop's biopsy report and that huge mass that was removed and malignancy was not detected. This mass consisted of blood vessels and fibrous tissue. Her report stated that this was a benign mass and monitoring for possible recurrence is recommended. Likely from untreated ear infections, this sweet girl still struggles with on and off ear infections secondary to allergies. She has been doing well from daily over-the-counter lubricating eyedrops and Benadryl. Gumdrop also had a corneal abrasion that has been treated. Gumdrop is playful and loves playing with her foster friends. She loves sleeping in bed with her foster parents at night, snoring the night away, and loves to be with her people. This tiny, sweet girl is ready to find her forever home! Brachycephalic breed experience and an adopter who is familiar with allergies and ear infections is required.
