Johnny Rose was surrendered to DFW French Bulldog Rescue when his previous family was no longer able to financially care for his chronic ear infections. Unfortunately after many years of needing medical treatment, Johnny Rose has scratched and pawed at his ears until the scar tissue closed up his ear canal. He has large uncomfortable, painful masses of scar tissue that weigh him down. His only chance at relief will be Total Ear Canal Ablations, where the vet must remove both of his ear canals. Already hearing impaired, Johnny Rose will likely be completely deaf after this procedure, however, he deserves this relief. Unfortunately, this procedure will be upward of $5,500 and the rescue needs your help to give him this relief sooner rather than later. Click on the Donate tab to help with his care!
From his foster parents about this sweet boy:
"Talk to the hand, son, because the ears are no longer working."
Johnny Rose is as effortlessly dapper as his namesake, with a heart just as devoted to his family. While he may not hear your compliments, he locks eyes with you in a way that leaves no doubt—he knows he’s adored. A true family man, Johnny shares his love equally with everyone, including the feisty toddler and resident lady pugs in his foster home.
Personal space? Not in Johnny’s vocabulary—he’s happiest when snuggled up close. But when it's time to recharge, he’ll settle in at the end of the couch or stretch out on the big bed for a well-earned snooze. He’s fully potty trained (not a single accident!), walks like a dream on a leash, and greets every stranger with the expectation of a friendly hello.
Though he hasn't barked yet, Johnny has a special talent—serenading bedtime songs with a soft, soulful "wooo wooo." He gets along beautifully with other dogs, remains unbothered by cats and birds, and is ready to bring his charm, loyalty, and cuddles to his forever home.
03/26/2025: Johnny Rose had his TECA and after a difficult recovery, he feels and looks so much better. He is still so loving and sweet, just 100% deaf. He will sing every so often and make his foster parents smile. This sweet boy has been doing wonderfully in rescue but is almost ready to find his forever home!
