Maple

    Bio:

Please welcome Maple to DFW French Bulldog Rescue. Maple was a stray and was brought into a local animal shelter. She was screaming in pain from her eye and her skin was crusty and itchy. We visited Dr. Nettune with Blink Veterinary Eye Specialists who was deeply concerned her eye would rupture without jumping on treatment. Maple has a perforated cornea with a prolapsed iris. This means the colored part of her eye is protruding through that wound and she is requiring 6 eye drops a day to save her eye. We’re not in the safe zone yet, but Maple is feeling so much better. Maple has been such a good eater and love bug for her foster parents. She has been doing phenomenal sleeping the day away when her foster mom is working from home. When her eye fully heals and her itchy skin infection clears up, we’ll be better able to understand how Maple does with other animals. But we know for sure, she loves any and all people. We’ve got you sweet girl!

04/11/025: Maple had her recheck at the Ophthalmologist and she has been medically cleared! She will always have a bit of scarring from where her iris had protruded through but she is able to see and there is no longer a concern for rupture. She is so thankful to have been saved. Maple's skin is feeling so much better but will need her skin folds cleaned every so often. Maple is very choosey with her foster friends, sometimes she will play and run with them but when it comes to people, she wants all the attention. Maple will likely not be a dog park dog just because she is not a huge fan of a lot of personalities but she would love a home where she is the only shining star!
