The rescue’s President and Vice President received a call during dinner from a shelter that a breeder was surrendering both a mother who was actively in labor, with her two babies. He originally wanted to only surrender the puppies and keep the mom, Margot, to be used for breeding again. The breeder could not afford the medical care for the pups and was not ready to “deal” with them. Fortunately, the shelter denied this request to keep mom. She was able to get her c-section at 1:00 am on Saturday and the family was then brought to Dallas. We ended up naming the two little boys, Milo and Otis. Unfortunately, the smaller pup, Milo, did not make it through the weekend. Shortly after, Margot became disinterested in Otis as well. Otis ended up passing away because he failed to thrive. Since her traumatic journey of losing both of her puppies, Margot has been receiving all of the love in the world possible. It has been difficult getting her to feel comfortable with eating and keeping her weight. Fortunately, Margot has still been loving life and loves people. She just recently became interested in playing with her foster friends. This gorgeous girl will do well in a home where her family understands she loves one on one attention.
