    Bio:

Please welcome Rambo to DFW French Bulldog Rescue! This sweet boy was surrendered to rescue after his family was no longer able to financially care for his medical needs. Rambo came into the rescue with a lot of neck pain, a prior eye removal, dry eye in the other, a skin infection, and ear infections. Rambo has cervical IVDD which is why he has been having this neck pain, he would put his butt up in the air and lower his head, crying in pain. Thankfully, we have been able to find the right medications to help keep him comfortable until his neck heals. He will be on strict crate rest to prevent any further discomfort and damage. We are treating his skin infection and ear infection. We are in disbelief at how sweet and loving this handsome boy is. Though his only good eye is a bit cloudy right now, he loves admiring his foster mom and just wants to be as close to her as he can. Rambo has not had an accident in his kennel and has been quiet during the day. We are thankful he is settling in and is getting the chance to heal. Please check back in to see his progress!

06/26/2025: Rambo is finally at the point of being eligible for adoption. After months of strict crate rest, he has been slowly able to walk around and play with his foster friends. Rambo is the definition of a sweetheart. He loves playing and trying to take a toy outside to show his friends. Rambo is house and crate trained. Medium or smaller dogs would be best only out of concern for another back injury. Rambo will an eye drop lifelong to help him produce more lubrication to his good eye. And often being on the look out for potential IVDD flare ups. Rambo is entering in the years of a more casual couch potato season of his life and we cannot wait until he gets to find a family to share this lifestyle with.

From his foster mom: You would never know Rambo had an IVDD flare up only a few months ago! This playful boy is as sweet as can be and loves to follow his foster mom around from room to room. He loves to play with toys, especially his favorites: Lampchop or Benebones (he has three he rotates between) and will pick them out of the toy basket himself! When he's not playing, he is snuggled up on the couch between his foster mom and foster sister, an older frenchie, who's been teaching him the ropes. Rambo does great in his crate overnight and while his caretaker is at work and is great at communicating when he needs to go potty. Due to his history with IVDD, he's been practicing using ramps to get on the couch and on the bed. He also is carried down his foster home's stairs but does great navigating them to go up himself. Because of how well he does with his foster sister, we suspect he'd do great with another dog in the home. He does great on car rides and going to new places around town and has done excellent walking around the neighborhood on a leash. He is also patient with his required daily eyedrops which makes administering a breeze. It can't be underscored how sweet, playful, and fun-loving Rambo is.
