Truffle

Truffle has a story unlike most, and more than anything, we want to find her the forever home she's deserved all along—a home where she'll be cherished, spoiled, and loved unconditionally for the rest of her life.

As a puppy, Truffle was given as a gift to a young couple. Sadly, when the relationship ended, she was taken and eventually rehomed. Over the years, Truffle was repeatedly bred and neglected, until one day her original owner received an unexpected phone call: Truffle had been found wandering the streets of Houston.

She was immediately taken to a veterinarian, where it became clear she had endured far too much. She was severely underweight, had evidence of being overbred, patches of missing hair, and nails so overgrown that they had begun growing into her paw pads. Despite everything she had been through—and however long she had survived on her own—it was remarkable that, with a course of antibiotics and plenty of love and care, these were the only medical issues she faced.

Although her original owner desperately wanted to keep her, life circumstances had changed and she was no longer in a position to provide the home Truffle deserved. Wanting the very best for her, she made the difficult and selfless decision to place Truffle in rescue.

Today, Truffle is proving every single day that her past has not defined her. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and adores people. She soaks up every bit of attention she's given and is learning what it feels like to be truly loved. We are still getting to know her personality, but one thing is already abundantly clear: Truffle has so much love left to give, and she's ready to spend the rest of her life with a family who will never let her wonder if she's wanted again.

Truffle is an absolute sweetheart who lives for her people. She's a dedicated cuddler who loves giving kisses. Just say the word and she'll happily dial it back. Fully potty trained, crate trained, and solid on sit and stay, she's as easy as she is lovable. Truffle is so bonded to her people that she may not want to share them with other dogs. A family who can give her plenty of one-on-one time or a home where she's the center of attention, will be her perfect match.
